World Cup 2014: Netherlands vs Mexico (Round of 16)

Netherlands have played some super football so far with Robin Van Persie and Arjen Robben in devastating form. But credit should go to Louis Van Gaal for his razor sharp variety of tactics which has seen them employ 3 different formations in their 3 group games and switched to a different formation depending on the course of the game. It shows how easily the players have put faith in their manager.

Mexico have done well to qualify to the next round. They have one of the most talented squads in the tournament which won the gold medal in the London Olympics. That Javier Hernandez has to start from the bench shows how good they have been and in Miguel Herrera they have a manager who is refreshing and has become a cult figure.

The Mexicans will give their all, and they gave Brazil a tough game. But am going with the Dutch to edge a close game thanks to their attacking prowess.

Prediction: Netherlands to win 2-1
