Yeah, yeah, Cricket is just a sport and Indians and Pakistanis are brothers! We all believe that in the depths of our hearts. Right? Now that we have moved past these convenient lies, let us get to the real deal. This upcoming Champions League Qualifier match is a poor man’s India Vs Pakistan. Let us take a quick look at how the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Faisalabad Wolves (FW) stack up for this encounter.
Hyderabad is coming in with the momentum having brushed past the Maroons in as emphatic a manner as Shikhar Dhawan’s numerous and impressive knocks over that past 8 months. However, one should realise that their fielding and bowling was below par in the 1st game – a very sobering thought for the wolves. SRH have got their win without major contributions from their bowling aces – Steyn and Mishra. If one or both these guys come to the party, the wolves might have to call it a night early.
Faisalabad have their own stars, albeit only 2 – Misbah-Ul-Haq and Saeed Ajmal have seen their share of matches being lost despite their very best efforts, in Pakistan colors. Unfortunately, the same tune was playing in their last match against the Volts too. The team cannot afford to rely on the abilities of these 2 alone. Yes, they are absolutely gifted players but they are only two people and cricket teams tend to have 11 players. The question then transforms – who among the 9 other players in the wolves is going to deliver for them? The answer to that question, my friends will give you a fair idea of the way this match will pan out.
Prediction: SRH to continue their dominance.
I predict a tight match may be 20th over finish with hyd winning
Otago won by 6 wickets (with 12 balls remaining)
Kandurata Maroons 154/9 (20/20 overs)(Tharanga 76)
Otago 157/4 (18.0/20 ov)(RN ten Doechate 64)
Faisalabad Wolves VS
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to field
Appears to be good decision given the fact that SRH have the most versatile attack which can tear through the opposition on a given day. It is easy to be scared of their bowling attack if you’ve followed SRH in IPL2013.
Nice preview on the most hyped match of these qualifiers…good work SC!

Spot on with your comment! SRH’s bowling attack is their strength. To quote the original article above
